Miss. Sun, a NNU Alumna, Gave a Lecture on How to Establish a Student-Centered and Interactive Classroom

On September 29, 2016, senior English majors gathered to listen to Sun’s lecture in classroom AA407. Sun Ying, an alumna, with almost 26 years’ teaching experience, who is the chief of the teaching section of Ningde No.10 Middle School, delivered a fantastic lecture on how to establish a student-centered and interactive classroom.

Before the lecture, Dean Gong gave a warmly welcome to Miss.Sun and solemnly introduced Sun’s brilliant achievement in English teaching. Dean Gong placed high hopes on the seniors and encouraged the new generation to surpass the old.

The lecture continued for about one hour and forty minutes, covering six points. As mentioned, teaching is a process for the teacher and his students to have communication, active interaction and collaborative growth. Firstly, to design a relaxing, democratic and harmonious teaching atmosphere. Secondly, to hold student-oriented educational principle. Thirdly, to update teaching concept, develop course content and change teaching styles. Fourthly, to create situations for language teaching and conduct cooperative learning. Fifthly, to strengthen the guidance of learning method. Last but not least, to stimulate the interest of students by taking full advantage of modern educational resources.

In the end, Miss. Sun had an interactive session with the listeners and answered their questions. The listeners really appreciated Miss. Sun’s lecture and gave her a thunderous applause.
