From October 22 to October 23, the 15th “FLTRP Cup” Fujian English Writing, Reading and Public Speaking Contests were held successfully in Huaqiao University. The scale of this year’s competition exceeded all previous ones since its inauguration in 1997, with a total of 44 teams from universities in Fujian and over 300 participants. Eight of our students participated in these contests and achieved great successes.
In writing contest, Chen Yang, Li Yuchai were awarded the first prize, Lin Xiaozhu obtained the second prize; in reading contest, Chen Lili were awarded the first prize, Guo Yanyan obtained the second prize and Lin Xiaozhu won the third prize; in public speaking contest, Lu Xiaojing and Lindan won the third prize. These contest aim at helping university students throughout the country have a better command of the language and, most importantly, speak , read and write better English.
