From April 5 to 11, 2016, ten young teachers aged below 35 took part in the 2016 preliminary teaching competition organized by Teaching and Researching group of English Education.
The contestants were required to present to the judges (six teachers over age of 35) their teaching design, multi-media courseware and the related 15-minute simulated classroom teaching. The judges then scored their performances according to assessment criteria.
Christina (Lin Li-li) won the first prize for her outstanding performance. Grace (Yang Guangye) and Zhou Luomei won the second prize. The third prize went to Liuhui, Chen Shanshan and Lin Shan.
The top two, Christina and Grace, will represent Teaching and Researching group of English Education and compete with winners from the other two groups in the final competition of the department.
Following the competition, a seminar was held in Room AA301 on April 12, 2016. Group members had a heated discussion. They shared teaching experience and exchanged their idea of education and teaching skills.
