Early on Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016, the launching ceremony started English salon activities to be held by FLD. The freshmen, sophomores and juniors and some teachers attended the ceremony. The dean, Mr. Gong Fanyuan gave a speech to all the students and teachers present. He said, “To learn English well, everybody should communicate in English as much as possible. As a student of FLD, you should be proud of our department. And through your hard work, our department will be proud of you one day.” After that, the foreign teachers Andy and Mike also gave talks on English learning. These encouraging words were really a shot in the arm, which enhanced the teachers’ and students’ confidence in English teaching and learning.
