Aims
This course responding to acquire the basic skill of listening comprehension, understand standard English, including the dairy life conversation, lectures, the news(BBC,VOA, CNN), and movies and so on. Students can grasp and take some notes about the main idea or the details through listening. Students in this course will also be aware of the barriers to listening comprehension and know how to cope with such barriers in real life. In a word, it’s beneficial for students’ communication with others.

Teaching and Learning
Having Listening class in the language lab and focusing on the listening task or exercise, independent, group and pair work. Combining the intensive listening and extensive listening into the class. Class assignments include the introduction of the vocabulary, cultural notes before the exercise, playback the tapes or records, verification the results.
