In view of significant reforms in CET-4 Listening Part from this year and with CET-4 of June 2016 coming around, Ms. YU Xing, a teacher from our department, gave a lecture titled “Characteristics and Test-Taking Techniques of New CET-4 Listening Part” in Room 21#501 of our old campus at 6:30 PM, May 19th, 2016 in order to help non-English majors better prepare for CET-4.
Ms. YU firstly introduced the reforms of this CET-4 Listening Part and characteristics of new CET-4, i.e. short conversation and passage dictation cancelled, short news listening added, difficulty increased and the test further closer to international authoritative exams such as TOEFL and IELTS. Then, in combination with the sample test of CET-4 2016 Listening Part, Ms. YU explained how to respond to short news listening and other important test-taking techniques. Finally, she recommended some useful listening materials and shared with students the summary of special vocabulary regarding preparation for new CET-4.
