Dean Gong on Wednesday (September 20, 2016) gathered some of the outstanding freshmen, sophomores and juniors of the FLD of Ningde Normal University in Room AA407 to discuss howto organize English Corner in a better way. Mike as well as the teachers in charge of English Salon--Ms Zheng and Ms Du attended the meeting.
Compared to the previous English activities, English Corner suffered a drop in the number of participating students. Therefore, Under the theme of “Better Organization of English Corner”, Dean Gong first gave a speech expressing his concern and expectation, which kicked off heated discussion among the students. Firmly believing “Better English, better future”, he emphasized the importance of English, calling on more students to get involved in English Corner and speak English as much as possible so as to improve their oral English. After discussion, Some student representatives actively put forward many good suggestions, which shed light on subsequent English Salon activities. Mike, Ms Zheng and Ms Du also voiced their opinions, stressing that English Corner should be student-centered, well-organized, entertaining, voluntary and multi-leveled in order to achieve better results. In addition, advertising in different ways may be a good choice. The meeting ended fruitfully.
