Aims
This course responding to understand the system of the English language, its forms, inflections and syntax, and the art of making them correctly.The focus of this course is on improving students’ abilities to comprehend, produce, and internalize basic grammatical rules and structures, such as simple verb tenses, progressive aspect, word order, simple modals, phrases, simple and compound sentences. Students practice structures through both oral and written exercises in controlled and open-ended practice. The goal is for students to learn basic grammatical structures in different contexts, thereby internalizing the structures and using them automatically.

Teaching and Learning
Lecture and presentations by the lecturer will be integrated with students centered in-class activities including tasks and exercises, independent, group and pair work. A number of seminars will be held on the topics introduced in class.
