Recently Dean Gong and Dean Karen Garber-Miller of School of Education of Avila Universtity met and talked about the possible cooperation on offering Master of Arts in Education: TESOL to our future students. They can study three TESOL courses like Cultural Sensitivity, Informal and Non-Formal Education and Technology as a Tool for Global Education while pursuing their undergraduate studies and bachelor degree. With these credits they can go to School of Education of Avila University to study nine degree courses for a master degree just for one year. That is to say our future students can get a bachelor degree and a master degree in five years.
The nine courses are Language and Culture, Modern Grammar and Linguistics, Methods of Teaching Language and Literacy, Materials, Design and Assessment for ESL, Teaching Adult Language Learners, Language Acquistion and Development, Teaching Readiing and Writing, ELL Practicum, TESL Practicum.
It is hoped that the two sides will take action soon and carry out the project so that our department will have a bite of the huge cake of the international cooperation of education and take a lead in this regard in our university.
