2014年7月-9月初，因我丈夫当时在中国驻塞拉利昂使馆工作，我以探亲的名义访问了这个西非国家。在我访问该国期间，恰逢史无前例的埃博拉疫情，本人亲眼目睹了中国大使馆在塞拉利昂开展抗疫外交，展现中国一个负责任大国的形象。本人作为外交官家属时常陪同大使夫人出席外事活动，如与塞拉利昂总统夫人座谈“如何帮助妇女儿童抗击埃博拉”，应邀出席了黎巴嫩大使馆举行的国庆招待会以及与塞拉利昂外交部长前往边远村落调研等。此次访问，体验了外交官的生活，增长了见识，扩大了视野，也深刻体会到中国强大起来了，世界需要中国，中国也需要世界。
In July and early September, I visited Sierra Leone, a west African country because my husband was working in the Chinese Embassy. During my visit, the unprecedented Ebola epidemic hit the country. I witnessed how the Chinese Embassy engaged in Anti-Epidemic Diplomacy, showing a large responsible country. As the wife of Chinese diplomat, I had the chance to attend foreign affair events with the Ambassador’s wife. For example, I participated the seminar on helping women and children to fight Ebola hosted by the first lady of Sierra Leone, was invited to the National Day Reception hosted by Lebanese Embassy in Sierra Leone, and accompanied the Foreign Minister of Sierra Leone to a distant village. This visit enriched my experience and broadened my horizon, which made me feel that China is growing stronger, and the world needs China as much as China needs the world.
